"I spent a lot of time looking out of my studio window. I saw people walking, trees and houses, high and low. I saw forms so crowded together that they were indistinguishable. Crunched shapes, grey and brown, turned out to be refuse left on the broken street below. I saw the conection of all the forms, lines and colors. To see what there is and what is not easily visible is a lifetime job. I used the shape of my window as the shape of my canvas and the window as a metaphor for the world outside." - Renée Rosen
